Smart Shopping

Smart shopping not only reduces waste but also saves you money. The following are a few tips for smart shopping.
  • Reusable shopping bags can be used several times and many grocers provide a bag discount.
  • Avoid the case of water bottles and purchase reusable water bottles.
  • Avoid Styrofoam packaging for items like eggs, instead purchase cardboard containers.
  • Avoid individually wrapped items like 100 calorie packs, instead purchase reusable containers to store smaller portions.
  • Avoid disposable items like razors and pens instead purchase reusable pens and razors.
  • Take your own coffee mug to the coffee shop, this not only reduces the cost but also reduces waste. No paper coffee cups, including Starbucks, can be recycled.
